Chicken Husbandry 101

Let's go back to school! A great option for fresh eggs is to raise your own chickens. Rob and Joe of Yellow House Farm are hosting a fabulous introduction class to chicken husbandry. Space is limited, so if you're serious, sign up quickly!

CHICKEN HUSBANDRY 101

The goal of this seminar is to be a general introduction to raising chickens. Fear not! This is not rocket science.
Areas of emphasis will include:
  • Choosing a breed
  • Housing
  • Hatching and rearing
  • Feeding schedules
  • Selecting and managing breeders
  • Maintaining a laying flock
  • Butchering and general cookery
  • The Yellow House Farm Conservation Initiative
  • Further sources of reading and information
WHEN, WHERE, AND HOW?: Saturday, February 28th, at Yellow House Farm. 9am-3pm. Coffee and tea provided. Bring a bag lunch.

PRICE: $25.00 for individual registration. $40.00 per couple.

SEATING: 12 attendee maximum, 6 attendee minimum. Registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATION: Registrations cancelled before February 21st will be refunded at 100%. After February 21st, no refunds will be possible.
