Yes, I am alive. The end of winter has gotten to me. Hope to be posting more as the sun shines and warms my gardens! We've had our first two litters of the year. Sally had a litter of six (we've lost one) and Ellie (Sally's daughter) has a litter of nine.
The baby bunnies are now a week and a half old and getting bigger!
Sally is due to kindle this weekend! We put in the nest box today. Send good vibes that she truly is pregnant and has a safe delivery!
Meet Sally, our Creme D'Argent heritage breed doe who was bred today. Hopefully we'll have babies in 31 days! She starts our official "meat department" on our homestead!
Remember the farm yogurt I blogged about a few days ago? See....pure bliss!
Ok, don't take my word for it when I say I'm taking a break! I do have to share a few pictures of my kids camping! We went up to Denmark, ME and really enjoyed swimming in the pond. Sleeping didn't go so well with the munchkins, but we'll try again next year!
Harvested my potatoes today..."only" 5 lbs, but way more than I expected! Mashed potatoes here I come! Growing in bags does work! Can't wait to tweak this method next year.
From this (6/1):To this (6/24):
To today's harvest:
My garden's promise of a harvest! (Well if the rain doesn't kill everything!)
Did that catch your attention? I picked up my new compost bin today and the kids enjoyed playing in it, empty of course! The last pictures are the beginning of my square foot garden.
Ok, well almost wordless! Lucy and I were at The Children's Museum of NH this morning with our MOPS group. We used trash to "upcycle" and made some very fun Upcycle Art. Go find some household junk and let the kids upcycle for Earth Day!
With my computer down, I don't have a personal photo to share, but look at this glorious (for New England) weather forecast (ignore the potential snow shower)! It's finally springtime! Who else is excited spring is here?
Here's a laugh for your Wednesday! (If you'd like to see more , you can get the cartoon, REYNOLDS UNWRAPPED delivered daily to your email box.)
