Cultures Giveaway
I'm trying to add a new fold in my "living local" portfolio (if there is such a thing) -- fermentation.
I've partnered with Cultures for Health and I'm presently brewing my first batch of kombucha with my Cultures for Health kombucha starter.
A Kombucha starter (aka Kombucha scoby) consists of yeast and bacteria existing in a symbiotic relationship. When combined with brewed tea, sugar, water and allowed to ferment for 5 to 30 days, the resulting Kombucha tea beverage has a slightly carbonated texture and is packed full of b-vitamins.So far I've been brewing my kombucha for almost a week and already have a baby culture in place. When I return from camping on Sunday I think I will take out the cultures and prepare the liquid for drinking. I'm brewing in a one quart jar now and can't wait to brew a gallon.
I also have water kefir grains to try as well!
Anyway, Cultures for Health would like to offer my readers a chance at winning any 3 starters of your choice at their cost!! You can choose from a variety of yogurt starters, kombucha, kefir, sourdough, or buttermilk starter.
Click here to enter this awesome giveaway. The giveaway will close next Thursday, August 20 at 11:59 pm EST. The winner will be announced August 21.
