Farmers' Market's in Full Swing!

The first week in June most of the local farmer's markets will be open and bursting with the first goodies of the season. Farmers' Markets are a great way of shopping for local produce, fruits, meats, cheeses, wines and more...
Here's what you need to know:

Portsmouth Farmers' Market has been open since the first weekend in May. The market is open Saturdays from 8 am - 1 pm at the City Hall Parking Lot.

Durham Farmers' Market opens June 1st at the Pettee Brook Parking Lot from 2:15 - 5:30 pm.

Hampton Farmers' Market opens Tuesday, June 2nd, at the Sacred Heart Church parking lot from 3 - 6 pm.

Kingston Farmers' Market is also opening for the season next Tuesday. This market is located at the "plains", across from the Kingston fire station, near the intersection of Church and Main Streets and is open from 2:15 - 5:30 pm.

Dover Farmers' Market is opening Wednesday, June 3rd. Please note that this year the market has a new home in the parking lot of The Herbal Path off Central Ave. The market is open from 2:15 - 6 pm.

Exeter Farmers' Market has been open for few weeks and is hosted Thursdays at Swasey Parkway, off of Water Street from 2:15 - 6 pm.

The above markets are a part of Seacoast Growers Association. There's quite a bit of information at their website.

There are also a few other markets in the area worth checking out:

Barrington Farmers' Market is opening soon. My apologies, but I don't have an exact date, but I'm hoping early June. If anyone has an exact date, let me know. The market is located across from Calef's at the junction of Route 9 & 125 and takes place every Saturday from 9 am - 1 pm.

Lee Farmers' Market appears to have opened over Memorial Day weekend (I will confirm that the market is currently open). The market is located at the Old Lee Fire Station (Route 155, Mast Road) and runs from 3 - 6 pm every Thursday.

Northwoord Farmers' Market opens June 4th and runs every Thursday from 3 - 6:30 pm till October 1st. The Northwood market is in its second year and is located parking lot at the corner of Rts. 4 and 202/9.

Rochester 4 Corners Farmers’ Market is one that I really want to check out. It's located at the 4 Corners Antique Shop parking lot at the junction of 202A, Estes Rd. & Meaderboro Rd. This market is a two-day market on Friday from 3-6pm and Saturday from 9am-12pm. The market has been open since the beginning of May and will continue through September

A new market opening this season is the Wentworth Greenhouse Farmers' Market. Although it doesn't open till June 30, it sounds like it's going to be yet another wonderful seacoast market. Mark it on your calendar now!

We were in Exeter today, so we stopped by the market in the rain. Not too many people there - but we got some yummy salad mix for dinner!

Farmers markets are the best place to get your fruits and veggies this season. Check out your local market for the best in produce also.
