This Weeks Events: June 15 - 21
What a crummy rainy week this has been. I really hope we get to see the sun this week!

June 19 - The 29th Annual Somersworth International Children's Festival kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 19, at the Somersworth High School football field at 11 Memorial Drive. The evening will feature performances by T-bone — a musical children's entertainer — and the local band Gazpacho. Over 30 vendors offering a variety of food, games, and activities will set up shop, and a large fireworks display will be launched once night falls. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to sit back and relax for the entertainment.
June 20 - The 29th Annual Somersworth International Children's Festival continues Saturday June 20 and is located on the city's Main Street and at the Noble Pines Playground and runs from 10 am - 3 pm.
There will be four stages, the festival features a mix of continuous multicultural and children's entertainment; exotic and traditional foods; an enormous selection of crafts and activities; a petting zoo, pony rides and excitement for all ages with over 250 activities and vendors.
June 20 - New Hampshire Dairy Day. Come celebrate at NH Farm Museum from 10 am - 4 pm and meet a cow and a dairy goat, churn cream to make butter, learn to make a soft cheese and take a barn tour. Free NH-made ice cream noon-3pm. $6 adults, $3 children, members free
June 20 - Newmarket Farmers' Market opens. Open every Saturday from 9 am - 1 pm in front of the Stone Church. Musicians and other artisans will also be present in addition to the farmers with their produce.
June 20 - 3rd Annual artsALIVE 2009 in Dover, NH. Explore this one day event of the visual arts. Painters, sculptors, craftsmen and others will display their creations at this free, outdoor event. The event will take place at Henry Law Park (on Henry Law Avenue) from 9 am - 4 pm.
June 20 - Annual Strawberry Festival at Northwood Congregational Church, Route 4, Northwood, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. A hearty breakfast complete with strawberries kicks off the festival with lunch being served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Strawberry smoothies, strawberries dipped in chocolate and mouth-watering homemade strawberry shortcakes piled with whip cream and ice cream will be served up all day long. Plenty of quarts picked locally, will be for sale to take home for your own baking and canning, so let us do your pickin' and don't forget to stock up!
June 20 -21 - Fee-free weekend at select National Parks. More info here.
June 21 - Father's Day Free at the Children's Museum of New Hampshire. All fathers and grandfathers will be admitted free 12-5 pm.
June 21 - Celebrate Father’s Day at Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo. Is there a better way to spend quality time with Dad? Bring the entire family to either Franklin Park Zoo or Stone Zoo for an enjoyable day learning about new and unique animals on exhibit. Fathers receive free admission on Father’s Day! 10 am - 6 pm
- Franklin Park Zoo Admission: $13.00 for adults; $10.00 for seniors (62+); $7.00 for children (2-12); Children under 2 are free. Located in Dorchester, MA.
- Stone Zoo Admission: $10.00 for adults; $8.00 for seniors (62+); $6.00 for children (2-12); Children under 2 are free. Located in Stoneham, MA.
June 13 - June 28th - 9th Annual Sand Sculpting Competition. Come watch 15 Masters of the Sand Sculpture Universe compete for over $15,000.00 in prize money. Awards Saturday night, June 20, 8 p.m. at the Seashell Stage. Followed by a Fireworks shoot at 9:30
