Peek at the Week: August 10 - 16

It's be sort of a "blah" week, hence the lack of posts. I did want to come back on and give you you're "peek at the week" so you can get out there and enjoy this lovely summer weather!

This past weekend I spent with the Dover Baptist MOPS Steering Committee. I am the new publicity coordinator and we had an awesome weekend planning out the upcoming year. So to toot my own horn, if you're a mom of kids from infancy through kindergarten, we'd love to have you come visit! This year kicks off on September 2nd from 9:30 am - 11:45 am. We'll meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays during the school year. Hope to see YOU there! :)

As a last teaser, I have began brewing my own kombucha this weekend and I'll be letting you know about a giveaway mid-week! Stand by for that!

Onto what's going on this week!

Cochecho Arts Festival events for the last week:
August 11 - Judy Gorlay, singer storyteller
August 13 - The Digbees, Shark in the Park Lunchtime Concert Series
August 14 - The Spectras, 7:00-9:00 PM, closing show

August 12 - NH Children's Museum, Teddy Bear Clinic & Tea Party, 10 am - 12:30 pm.

Children are invited to bring their favorite stuffed friend to the museum's annual Teddy Bear Clinic from 10 am - noon, followed by a Teddy Tea Party from 12-12:30 pm. This event, which is designed to not only be fun but also help children who may be anxious about visiting the doctor, is generously sponsored by Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Volunteer nurses from the hospital will be on hand to issue each animal an ID bracelet, perform health check-ups and conduct minor surgery on furry friends in need of repair. At the tea party, guests will enjoy juice, animal crackers and fresh fruit donated by Fiddlehead Farms Marketplace. All activities are included with paid admission and are free for museum members.
August 14 - 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Kancamagus Highway, 9 am - 4 pm. A complete schedule of activities can be found here.

August 16
- Bonnie Brae Farms Open Farm Day, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Plymouth, NH. Guided walking farm tours, guest chef, sampling and venison available for purchase.

Ongoing - Grease at Prescott Park put on by the Prescott Park Arts Festival. Grease will run till August 23 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings.

Lastly, in the spirit of NH Eat Local Month, if you're looking to head out for the evening for a date or otherwise, check out the movie, Food, Inc., now in local theaters.

Interesting Tea! I'll have to look into making it myself. Let me know how it goes.
