Maple Apple Crisp
Here's a nice recipe to warm up those cool fall evenings. You can't beat a nice maple apple crisp! I made this last night to go with my Shepard's Pie. Come back again Thursday for that recipe!
The apples are MacIntosh from Butternut Farms and the maple syrup is Sugarmomma's Maple Syrup from the Exeter Farmer's Market.
INGREDIENTS
5 apples - peeled, cored, and sliced
3/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 pinch salt
1/4 cup butter, softened (I reduced the butter amount from the original recipe, it was perfect this way)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Place apples in an 8x8 inch baking dish. Toss apples with syrup. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, oats, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, until topping is golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Enjoy this simple recipe that tastes and smells delicious!

glad you got a chance to go to the Exeter Farmers' Market! I just have a great time seeing the different things available at the ones I don't regularly get to go to, but Exeter's just has such a wide variety of offerings, and a wonderful, calming and enjoyable atmosphere
