This Weeks Events: May 25 - 31

First off, can you believe June is just around the corner? May flew by! I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and got your gardens planted.

Here's what's coming up this week:

May 27 -The Backyard Farming Series at the Madbury Public Library - free and open to the public. For more info contact the Madbury Public Library, 9 Town Hall Road, Madbury, NH 03823, 603-743-1400, www.Madburylibrary.org

“Build a root cellar in your own basement” May 27 at 7pm Now that you have all that produce where do you put it? Craig Stephan has created a root cellar in his home and will share with you all the details you have to know in order to complete this project.

May 28 - I Eat My Yard: A Foraging Class with Rebekah Gray from 6:30 - 8 pm at the Rye Public Library. Come meet Rebekah Gray and learn more about foraging and backyard gardening. Perfect for those new and old to gardening. Sponsored by the Rye Energy Committee.

May 29 -
Pajama Party at the Stone Zoo in Stoneham, MA. What if you could come to Stone Zoo – in your pajamas!? This family-friendly program promises to be loads of fun! Registrants will receive special late entry to the Zoo, a night-time snack, special story-time, a craft project, and up-close encounters with our hyacinth macaw and prehensile-tailed skink! This very special evening will be held May 29 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Stone Zoo Animal Discovery Center . The cost is $8 per participant, $4 for each additional participant. Advance registration is required.

May 30

Family Day to Play from 1 - 5 PM at the Currier Museum in Manchester, NH.

Participate in hands-on art-making in the Art Center and Museum, reserve your seats early to view award-winning artist David Macaulay while he demonstrates his craft in the auditorium (2 pm), walk through the galleries and view the Macaulay exhibition, dance with your kids to the sound of the Art Center’s unofficial band the “Toe Jam Puppet Band,” view and bid on special silent auction items, and more!
Afternoon activities include:
