Raymond Winter Farmers' Market!

Do you like fresh produce? How about locally raised pork, poultry, beef, fresh local seafood, maple syrup, waffles or goat milk? How about goat milk soaps or hand-crafted local products made of wool or alpaca fiber? If all of that sounds good to you, then mark December 11th, 2010 on your calendar. Starting at 10 a.m. and running to 2 p.m. the Raymond Business and Economic Development Council is sponsoring Raymond’s first ever Winter Farmers’ Market at the Lamprey River Elementary School, 33 Old Manchester Road off Exit 4 of NH Route 101. There will be other Raymond Winter Farmers’ Markets held on January 22, 2011, February 19, 2011 and March 5, 2011, as well. Mark that calendar!

The list of vendors keeps growing! So far, the vendors list includes: Anderson’s Mini-Maples, Deerfield New Hampshire, featuring locally produced maple syrup and candies; Eastman’s Fish Market, Seabrook Beach NH, featuring fresh seafood, shrimp and condiments; Folsom Farm, Raymond NH, featuring alpaca fiber products from yarn to scarves to blankets; Harrison’s Poultry Farm, Candia NH, featuring a host of poultry and other products; Heron Pond Farm, South Hampton NH, featuring a cornucopia of vegetables from potatoes to bok choy; Ilneva Farm, East Kingston NH, featuring ground goat meat and sausages, fresh free-range eggs; Jesta Farm, Hampton Falls NH, featuring raw goat’s milk, goat’s milk soap and hand-made cotton wash clothes; Kellie Brook Farm, Kensington NH, featuring poultry, vegetables and fresh eggs; Klemm’s Bakery, Windham NH, featuring breads, pastries, pies and other delectables; Moriartys Greenhouse, Stratham NH, featuring potted herbs, houseplants and Christmas cactus; Phoenix Hill Farm, Boscawen NH, featuring pork products; Want Waffles, Hampton NH, featuring Belgian waffles on a stick.

December 11th is a big day in Raymond. Following the Farmers’ Market is the Raymond Holiday Parade, slated to begin at 4 p.m. at the Raymond middle school. The parade will make its way to the common, where family festivities will follow. Children will help decorate the town tree with homemade ornaments and will then finish the evening off with the Raymond Historical Society at the Depot, enjoying refreshments and singing carols! So, stock up on local, fresh produce at the Raymond NH Winter Farmers’ Market, then head to the Holiday Parade for a fun-filled holiday family fiesta!
